Gamle blondebrikker/heklebrikker
ballong
tapetlim

I discovered that I had received quite a few questions about my lace candleholder, and here is a more detailed description of how you make it.

You need:
Old crochet doilies
A balloon
Wallpaper glue

Soke the doilies in the glue, and stick them on the balloon.
I used five doilies.
Let the doilies overlap a little bit.

Hang the balloon to dry.
My doilies are quite thick, and needed at least a day to dry.

When its dry you prick the balloon, and voila - you have a beautiful candleholder:)

  21. That is beautiful - thank you for sharing your wonderful idea! :-) I think if you don't have any wallpaper glue, you could also use heavy starch instead (maybe someone already said this in Norwegian).

  27. Hi! What country do you come from? My quess is Denmark because I can understand a lot of words. I am Dutch and our languages look alike a lot. For example: plutselig is plotseling in Dutch. Isn't that funny? When I see a Danish movie I can partly understand it too :)

Anyway, I really love your candleholder! I am going to make one right now because the glue is ready!

  36. Looks lovely. One question, when u prick the balloon does it come out easily. Doesn't it get stuck on parts where the dolly is glued to,it? How does it work?

    SvarSlett
  37. is there a type of flame resistant fixant u can spray on it so it doesn't somehow go up in flames. just as a precaution? have u had any problems with them catching on fire? or is the glue enough fire resistance?
